Frequently Asked Questions About Private Dog Training

Our dog training philosophy is positive reinforcement-based, focusing on encouraging and rewarding good behavior.

We believe in creating a bond of trust and understanding between the dog and the owner. This method is not only scientifically proven to be effective but also promotes a happy and stress-free environment for learning.

As a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) through the CCPDT, we follow the LIMA model of training: Least Intrusive, Minimally Adversive.

That means we tailor our approach to each dog’s individual personality and needs, ensuring a personalized experience that respects the dog’s natural instincts and intelligence and that the handler is able to effectively use.

We charge $149 per training session. All sessions are completed by a dog trainer with more than 5 years experience and a CPDT-KA certification.

Our goal is to create communication and understanding that does not rely on tools to control your dog. We teach class on a standard flat collar and leash and use high-value treats and praise to develop understanding and expectation between you and your dog.

You, particularly your voice, should be the most important influencer for your dog!

Generally, no!

Our years in animal sheltering and working with behaviorally challenged dogs mean that there is little we haven’t seen or are surprised by.

But we have also seen the impact that training done by an inexperienced trainer can have. So we take our responsibility to you and your dog very seriously. If you are struggling with a behavior we cannot help with, we will refer you to someone who is better equipped to handle the problem.Â
